5:29 pm	Lufthansa Airlines Changes its Asia Plans The Deutsche Lufthansa Airlines which had earlier announced the plan to start  international flights to Baghdad has now postponed it as study by the Airlines has shown that there is a lack of customer interest for that route. It is important to note that the airlines is facing stiff competition from Th rivals such as Emirates airlines which has been growing in popularity among not only the Arab bound travelers but also European air travelers.The news however is  is a blow for Iraq's hopes to reconnect Baghdad with international capitals since most Western airlines discontinued flights to Baghdad following the 1991 Gulf War. Earlier this year Lufthansa air  resumed flights to the northern city of Erbil in April after a 20-year halt, and had said it was gearing up for flights to Baghdad four times a week. Lufthansa has been enhancing its fleet presence in many other Asian cities as well. For example it has plans for offering more city bound airline operations to cities in India Such as New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.
